Chikushi Jogakuen University and Seinan Gakuin University in the Fukuoka metropolitan area in southwestern Japan are jointly sponsoring the Fifth International Conference of the Asian Philosophical Association with the support of Fukuoka City and the Turkey-Japan Cultural Dialogue Society.
ICAPA 2011 aims at understanding the nature of pluralism in the sense of peaceful co-existence and examining the possible consequences of this phenomenon on scholarship in humanities, the value systems and civilizations of the Asian community. We should realize that the spirit of unity among different peoples and various cultures is love and respect for each other. It is our purpose to foster the idea that enmity should always be against ignorance, disparity and poverty. Therefore, we unite but not against our fellow human beings. We approach each other with dialogue, respect and warmth of love so that we may explain the truth with sincere scholarship. For we know that the way to convince civilized people for our purpose is dialogue.
Therefore, ICAPA at Chikushi Jogakuen University and Seinan Gakuin University shall emphasize dialogue among peoples, nations, adherents of different religions and civilizations with a heartfelt Asian hospitality and love.
